Seed tray invites more birds to feed

Install this one-sided hopper feeder with its back facing the woods (or fence) and enjoy great frontal views of bird activity. Extended feeding tray attracts larger birds like cardinals. Overhanging roof shelters the seed in the hopper from the weather and the opening along the bottom automatically dispenses seed into the seed tray. Comes with two metal grommets to add your own branches as extra perching space, flowers not included. Includes a 72 inch tall sectional pole. Built to last from green and brown recycled plastic with all-screw construction. Measures 10 x 14-3/4 x 8-7/8 inches tall.

  • Back to the Woods Landing Tray Feeder, 2-1/4 lb. capacity
  • Invite a variety birds to feed comfortably, from finches to cardinals
  • You may choose to add your own perches to provide extra perching space to accommodate more birds
  • Easy to clean with removable metal mesh drainage tray
  • Made in the USA, available exclusively at Duncraft

Wobbly pole
The pole consists of pieces tapered at the end so that they stack into each other. My bottom pole piece is dug into the ground so that just the tapered end sticks out and the bird feeder is still wobbly after compacting the soil. I thought the pole would be sturdier given the price. I wish this site had more details on the bird feeders. Some of the poles for other birdfeeders on this site have a spiral to dig in further into the ground. I am excited about the tray aspect of the bird feeder for easy cleaning.

Merchant Response

The problem may be the soil, rather than pole. If the soil is loose or sandy, we recommend putting the pole into a hole backfilled with gravel, or using a twister ground sock (purchased separately). We have been using these poles for many years and find them to be sturdy and durable. We'll reach out to this customer to see how we can help.

I highly recommend this feeder
A feeder that will last you for a very long time. It was simple to Mount and comes with a metal pole and flange and screws to Mount to the pole. I'm very pleased and my fine feathered friends are even more pleased with this feeder!
