Unlike feeders with a solid bottom tray, this design features an open-grid base that allows loose seed and hulls to fall through instead of collecting on a tray. This helps reduce seed buildup inside the cage and removes one of the food sources that can attract squirrels and larger birds. While some loose seed beneath the feeder is normal, the open-grid design helps keep the feeding area cleaner over time. Six feeding ports provide plenty of room for multiple birds to dine at once inside the protective fly-through cage.
An overhanging roof shields seed from rain and snow to reduce spoilage, while integrated squirrel-locking discs help keep the roof securely in place.
