When it's time to clean out the nest, the viewing panel slides out completely for full access to the interior. A durable copper portal maintains the proper 1-1/2 inch entrance size and helps prevent predators from enlarging the opening. Grooves below the entrance assist young birds as they prepare to leave the nest, while built-in ventilation and drainage help keep nesting conditions dry and healthy.
